Sevastopol

The city is a naval port, a significant industrial, scientific and cultural centre of Ukraine, in which every hill, every street and bay is history itself.
It was built as a base far the Black Sea Fleet in the late 18th c.

Twice in its history Sevastopol withstood the forces of foreign invaders far a long time.
The defence of the city in 1854-1855 during the Crimean War and the defence in 1941-1942 made Sevastopol known throughout the world.
